Human Expertise Remains Essential
Pan-European Research on AI in Financial Planning
At Innovation Lux, we are proud to announce the successful completion of a major European research project conducted in partnership with Ipsos for our client, OVB Holding AG. The comprehensive, representative study titled “OVB / Ipsos Research Financial Planning in the Age of AI” benchmarked consumer sentiment across five core European markets: Germany, Spain, Hungary, Italy, and the Czech Republic. By surveying 5,000 consumers, the project maps exactly how artificial intelligence is transforming retail financial services and where human expertise remains entirely irreplaceable.
The core takeaway is clear: while AI adoption is accelerating as a powerful digital tool for research, the human advisor remains the ultimate anchor of trust.
Key Pan-European Trends from 5 European Countries
Across the five European markets surveyed, the findings reveal that while consumers increasingly turn to AI to explore financial topics, research products and support their financial planning, they continue to value human expertise, personal guidance and trust when making important financial decisions.
Project Impact
For Innovation Lux, this collaboration highlights our ability to scale complex, multi-market quantitative insights that yield highly actionable strategy. The findings prove that the future of financial planning is hybrid.

“Our pan-European research with Ipsos for OVB Holding AG dismantles the myth that AI will fully replace the human financial advisor. Instead, the data uncovers a powerful mandate for a hybrid future: European consumers want the analytical speed and scalability of AI during their initial research, but they absolutely demand human empathy, validation, and localized accountability before making major lifecycle decisions,” emphasizes Christiane Lesch, CEO Innovation Lux S.á.r.l.
