WIPO Panel Dismisses Domain Name Complaint Concerning innovation-lux.com
Innovation Lux S.à r.l. welcomes the decision of a three-member WIPO Administrative Panel denying the complaint seeking the transfer of the domain name innovation-lux.com.
On September 28, 2026, the Administrative Panel appointed through the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center issued its decision in Case No. D2026-3288.
The complaint was denied.
The domain innovation-lux.com remains with Innovation Lux.
International Three-Member Panel
The complaint was reviewed by a three-member Administrative Panel appointed through the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
Following its examination of the parties’ submissions, documentary evidence, and relevant provisions of the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), the Panel denied the complaint seeking the transfer of the domain name.
The decision was issued on September 28, 2026.

Background to the Proceedings
The proceedings concerned the domain name innovation-lux.com and were conducted under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP), which provides an administrative framework for resolving certain disputes involving domain name registrations.
The complainant, Luxinnovation GIE, sought the transfer of the domain name.
The Panel assessed whether the three requirements for a domain transfer under the UDRP had been established.
After reviewing the submissions and supporting evidence, the Panel concluded that the requirements for ordering a transfer had not been met.
Key Findings of the Panel
Established Business Activities and Legitimate Interests
The Panel acknowledged evidence that Innovation Lux had been conducting genuine consulting activities under its name before receiving notice of the dispute.
The decision referred to supporting documentation, including the company’s registration, commercial proposals, invoices, website activity, media references, social media presence, and public speaking engagements.
The Panel found that Innovation Lux had made a strong showing of rights or legitimate interests in the disputed domain name.
No Bad-Faith Registration and Use Established
The Panel examined the circumstances surrounding the selection and registration of the domain name in October 2024.
It found the explanation for the name’s selection to be plausible and was not persuaded by the argument that the domain name had been chosen to benefit from publicity surrounding the complainant’s later launch of the Luxembourg AI Factory in April 2025.
The Panel noted that the domain name had been registered approximately six months before that launch and that Innovation Lux’s business preparations and establishment also predated it.
The Panel further observed that Innovation Lux’s website did not imitate the complainant’s website and made no reference to the complainant.
The Panel concluded that the complainant had not established bad-faith registration and use of the domain name.
Scope of the Decision
For the limited purposes of the first UDRP requirement, the Panel found the domain name to be confusingly similar to the complainant’s registered trademark.
However, the Panel concluded that the second and third requirements for ordering a domain transfer had not been established.
Accordingly, the complaint was denied.
The decision concerns the specific requirements of the UDRP and does not constitute a general determination of all trademark or company-name rights.
